you can just sign up for free for an ebay account, then place a bid on a popular item (not a high bid, if you don't want it!) and you're immediately registered. or there's the option for a free 1 month trial of an online dvd rental company, 'screenselect' (this is what i chose), and you can cancel immediately if you want!

for signing up for one of these free trials or offers (obviously freepay.com gets paid money from the companies who advertise with these offers), simply sign up 5 friends, and you get your ipod.

basically, you don't have to spend money getting in on this, and whether you persue it and try and get 5 'referrals' or not is up to you, but for the love of phil, pleeeease??!

p.s. i think there's other things you can get free, which may take a different number of referrals
