So sorry I haven’t been in touch in such a long while, but don’t worry – I’m not dead! Dead tired, maybe – but this week has been a lot more relaxing – especially as I had monday and tuesday off…

The 2 weeks previous had been very busy though (so much so that I can hardly remember what went before!) – the first being the whole build up to eight (Friday night café), the Platform (youth event) and I was preaching a sermon/leading a service (at a church I’d been to once before – and I’ve never done that before!) on the Sunday morning. Oh yeah, and that included training on the wednesday and the bank holiday monday!

Then the week after was 2 days at African Adventure with year 7 (usually year 6 or below) and (unexpectedly) 8 pupils who “haden’t settled into High School well” – so was very challenging, but the most ‘rewarding’(?) Then wednesday training and Friday-Sunday back at the African Village co-leading/running a boys’ weekend! Conversely, they were incredibly well-behaved, but still wore us out!

…so perhaps I earned my 2 days off.

As far as next year, I’ve got a place at uni Durham uni to read maths, which should be great! Provided I remember what I know, that is!

The summer starts as work (+ living) here ends, with a week at the Slack Top Centre (Yorkshire) helping my parents + others run a week’s re-entry holiday for returning missionary kids. Then there’s a week as a worker at a young people’s Christian camp at Sizewell Hall, followed immediately by a week there as a “camper”.

That’ll be about the middle of August, + I’ll then be looking to work (applying soon!) at tesco. Mum drives past one on her way to work most days, but it’s not much more than an hour or half an hour’s cycle. Ideally I’ll be driving one of their ‘dotcom’ vans – but if that doesn’t work out it’ll probably be stacking chairs^shelves or similar. I’d probably work part time so I do get some holiday and/or time to brush up on the maths!

Other summer plans include possibly ^a day visiting Mum, Dad + Ros while they’re in Norfolk on holiday and possibly even driving my Nanna to the North-Easy coast for her to get a bit of a holiday.

We’ll see.
